Dr. Jeff Rojek is Associate Professor of Criminal Justice. Prior to coming to UTEP, he was Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Rojek earned his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He has received more than $1 million research funding from federal, state, and local grants and research contracts as a principal or co-principal investigator. His primary area of study is police officer and organization behavior with research on topics that include: use of force, officer injuries, racial bias in traffic stops, officer-involved traffic collisions, officer decision-making in tactical events, police practitioner-research partnerships, and officer misconduct. Dr. Rojek has published over 30 scholarly articles and chapters in such outlets as Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, Crime and Delinquency, Police Quarterly, Policing, and Review of Policy Research.
