Welcome to the Center for Law & Human Behavior (CLHB) at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). The CLHB was founded in 2010 and is a focal point at UTEP for extramural research in the social and behavioral sciences. The CLHB strives to develop relationships with government and non-profit stakeholders in areas such as criminal justice, behavioral health, substance abuse, and program evaluation to help improve the delivery of services to citizens in the Paso Del Norte region and beyond.
As an emerging national research university on the southwest border of the United States, the CLHB leverages its unique location and the unparalleled expertise of the faculty at UTEP to generate cutting cutting-edge research and program evaluation in support of the nation’s borders and the criminal justice system. CLHB members have conducted research for federal partners including the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, as well as for major cities such as San Jose, California.
I invite you to explore our website and especially our areas of expertise. Faculty and researchers affiliated with the Center for Law and Human Behavior have expertise in a wide array of social, behavioral, legal, and criminal justice-related research areas.
